Glasgow Airport

 Glasgow Airport

Glasgow airport has been used as a bit of plane graveyard during the covid pandemic. Many British Airways aircraft have been stored for months.

G-EUXC, G-EUXG, G-EUXH, G-EUXK, G-EUXL, G-EUXM, G-MEDF, G-MEDG, G-MEDJ and G-MEDU (A321-200) being stored at Glasgow during lockdown

Perhaps the saddest news for aviation fans and the entire airline industry during lockdown was hearing of the entire disbandment of every passenger carrying Boeing 747-400 commonly referred to as 'The Jumbo Jet'. This is Virgin Atlantics 'Ruby Tuesday' G-VXLG seen at Glasgow in March. All the ground equipment had also be temporarily SORNed as there was no required use for any of it. Qantas and British Airways where the other airlines to announce early retirement of their Queen of the Skies.

TUI had also been hit hard by the pandemic meaning a few of their airframes where also grounded at Glasgow.
